Nicole Kidman “played her cards perfectly” in her custody negotiations with ex-husband, Keith Urban, Rob Shuter reported in his Naughty But Nice Substack on Friday, January 9.
The country singer, 58, “initially wanted equal time,” an insider told Shuter, but has “a lot of secrets.”
And the Big Little Lies star, 58, used that to her advantage, another source claimed: “The real reason Nicole got the majority of custody is because she knows everything.”

Per the agreement, the Oscar winner’s daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 15, will be with her for 306 days per year, and with the country star, 58, for the other 59, according to People.
Kidman was allegedly “anxious” and pushed hard for custody, the Daily Mail reported on Thursday, January 8, because of her experience in her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001, when she agreed to joint custody of their adopted children Isabella, now 33, and Connor, 30. The outlet also noted that Urban’s touring schedule was a contributing factor.

It also helps that their daughters are “Team Mom all the way,” a friend told Shuter, adding that Urban “knows Nicole has the kids’ best interests at heart.”
“Everyone close to them knows the girls are happiest this way,” another insider revealed, and in exchange, “Nicole will keep her mouth shut.”
