Cox Media Group CHR 106.1 WBLI Patchogue NY is debuting a new on-air lineup on Monday, January 12.
Morning-co host and afternoon host Ally Ali will move to middays from 10-3pm in addition to co-hosting “The Syke Morning Show with Ally Ali” with Andrew ‘Syke’ Sykora. Ali joined WBLI in 2018 quickly rising through the ranks from intern to promotions to morning show producer, night host and was promoted to morning co-host in 2021. She added afternoon drive duties in September 2024.
In a post announcing her move, Ali commented, “I am honored, humbled, & grateful to be stepping into a timeslot that once belonged to Al Levine, who first believed in me enough to train me to be on air. Thank you to anyone who believed & saw something in me that led me to this moment.” She continued, “Years ago, I would’ve minimized this moment, said ‘it was right place, right time.’ But now I’ll say it with my chest, unashamedly. This was not handed to me because I happened to be there. I worked. I grew. I said yes to every opportunity. I slept in conference rooms, & on the floor in the studio. I made myself physically sick from pushing myself, afraid that someone would scoop it out from under me. I poured my soul into this, & it paid off.”
The move comes as Tory Onorato departs middays. Oronato also had taken on that role in September 2024 in addition to her duties as Production Manager for WBLI and Classic Rock 102.3 WBAB. Onorato started at WBLI as an intern in 2016 and joined Cox Long Island full-time in 2018 spending time in promotions, production, as a board-op, and has spent time in multiple dayparts. She said that while she will be stepping down from middays, she will still be voicing commercials and imaging for the stations and Cox Media Group nationally commenting, “As Taylor Swift says, ‘and baby, that’s show business for you.’ I’m looking to make 2026 the year I pivot into the creative, the joy of voice over, and focusing on me.”
Evening host Cat Sodano will move up to afternoons from 3-7pm. Sodano joined WBLI in 2022 as a traffic reporter and weekend/fill-in host before rising to nights in September 2024. Sodano enlisted Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean at his solo album release event to make her announcement.
