Ariana Grande weighs in on Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone’s ‘Miss Piggy’ movie
Ariana Grande has spoken out on the possibility of being cast in The Muppets universe with Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone.
For those unversed, the 35-year-old and 37-year-old actresses have teamed up to produce a movie centered on the iconic Muppet character, Miss Piggy.
During a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight on January 11, the 32-year-old singer was asked to address speculation surrounding her involvement in the project ahead of the Golden Globes.
“Oh, really? I mean, I’m open — hello,” Grande said, before adding, “No, I’m kidding, I’m kidding, I’m kidding. I mean, I’m a big fan of The Muppets.”
In a later interview with the outlet, Lawrence laughed off the “rumour,” saying, “Oh, she didn’t seem excited? That’s your casting. We did not — that was the first time she was hearing about it.”
“I guess it was one of those Twitter rumours. They’re good at those,” the Die My Love star said. “I mean, if she wants to be in the movie, I would love for her to be in the movie.”
When asked by the interviewer to appeal directly to Grande, The Hunger Games actress looked into the camera and begged, “Please be in Miss Piggy.”
In November 2025, Lawrence first broke the news on Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang’s podcast, Las Culturistas, that she and the La La Land actress are making a movie about Miss Piggy, with Cole Escola on board as a writer.
Shortly afterward, Stone confirmed that while she is producing the project, she will not be portraying Miss Piggy.
