HICKORY, NC – The Lenoir-Rhyne swim teams were on fire on Saturday, as they combined to take down Mars Hill 335-169 at the Shuford Pool. The men won 167-87 while the woman won 168-82.

For the men, Levi McRea, Christopher Forsey, and Wyatt Herger combined for six first-place finishes while Ben Swetckie collected two second-place finishes in the Men’s 100-Yard Backstroke and Men’s 200-Yard Backstroke. 

Ella Penny led the way for the women’s team, producing three first-place finishes in the women’s 200-Yard Backstroke, 200-Yard Freestyle, and 200-Yard IM. The Women’s team combined for 10 first-place finishes, seven second-place finishes, and seven third-place finishes.

This is the third straight year Lenoir-Rhyne and Wheeling have competed with the Bears swept the Cardinals in both genders in all three meetings.

Lenoir-Rhyne will compete against Converse this Friday at home for senior day. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Shuford Pool.
