The NBA will announce the 2026 All-Star Game starters on Monday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock prior to the Thunder-Cavs (2:30 p.m. ET) game which is part of a 9-game slate on MLK Day. The NBA is continuing the tradition of playing on MLK Day with this year marking the 40th edition of games played on the holiday.
Ten All-Star starters will be announced Monday, 5 from each conference. The All-Stars reserves will be announced at a later date.
Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo were announced as the leaders of the Western and Eastern Conferences, respectively, in the second fan returns of NBA All-Star Voting 2026.
The 2026 All-Star Game will feature a new format in which two teams of U.S. players and one team of international players (known as the World team). Those teams will compete in a round-robin tournament featuring four 12-minute games. The three teams will each have a minimum of eight players.
As in the past, 24 NBA All-Stars (12 from each conference) will be selected as follows: The five players honored as starters from each conference will be selected by fans (50% of the vote), current NBA players (25%) and a media panel (25%), and the seven players honored as reserves from each conference will be selected by NBA head coaches.
This year, the All-Stars will be selected without regard to position. The process for assigning players to the two U.S. teams will be determined at a later date.
