DC Comics’ latest Batman series is crushing the sales charts ahead of its second printing.

Per a press release from DC Comics, the recently released Batman #1 by Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez has officially broken past the 500,000 units sold mark just days ahead of Batman Day 2025 on September 20. Better yet, fans who missed out on picking up a copy the first time around will only have to wait a few more weeks to get ahold of the second printing of Batman #1 when it arrives in comic book stores everywhere on October 15.

Batman #1 has been hyped up by DC Comics as a “bold new era” for the Dark Knight, and not just because of the series’ new logo or Batman’s new suit. The series began with numerous major changes to the established status quo, including James Gordon’s return to the Gotham City Police Department as a beat cop rather than one of its top brass and a whole new look for one of the Dark Knight’s oldest enemies. Batman #1 has received rave reviews from critics and readers alike, further cementing the title’s overwhelming success.

The official solicit synopsis for Batman #1 from DC Comics reads, “A BOLD NEW ERA OF BATMAN STARTS HERE! A new day dawns for the Dark Knight Detective as Eisner Award-winning writer Matt Fraction (Hawkeye, Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen) joins forces with superstar artist Jorge Jiménez (Batman, Summer of Superman Special) for an unforgettable new era of Batman! The best superhero in comics gets a brand-new first issue to kick off this new era that will test Batman and Bruce Wayne like never before!”

Ahead of the release of Batman #1, writer Matt Fraction discussed the specific vision for the Dark Knight’s next era that the series’ creative team have crafted. “Jorge and I have a very superhero-forward kind of take on Batman,” Fraction said at the time. “We’ve got a new Batmobile, we’ve got a new costume, we’ve got new characters, and we’ve got a lot of old ones too —good and bad; all the stuff that makes Batman the coolest character in comics. We want to celebrate it.”

Batman #1 is on sale now from DC Comics. The second printing of Batman #1 arrives in comic book stores everywhere on October 15.
