Lee Zii Jia will be looking for his first win of 2026 when he steps onto the badminton court for his third BWF World Tour tournament of the year, the Indonesia Masters (20-25 January).
The Malaysian, a men’s singles bronze medallist from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, faces a tough task, with the draw throwing up an opening round clash with H.S. Prannoy of India, the Thomas Cup and SEA Games team gold medallist.
Lee owns a protected world ranking from the BWF due to an injury-hit 2025, which saw him end his season early to focus on rehabilitation. His first two tournaments back – The 2026 Malaysia Open and India Open 2026 – saw opening round defeats for the former Asian Champion.
If Lee beats Prannoy to reach the last 16, another Indian shuttler could await, in the form of seventh seed Lakshya Sen.
The latter rounds of the BWF Indonesia Open 2026 will be available to watch live on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com (territorial restrictions apply).
