The newest installment in the Star Wars saga is essentially rewriting the entire Star Wars timeline. By doing so, a new Disney+ series is pushing canonical boundaries to new limits.

Disney+’s Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past is set to, for the very first time on-screen, reunite the entire Skywalker family, according to Total Film. That means fans will be able to see Anakin, Padmé, Luke, and Leia Skywalker on screen together.

“This may be the only opportunity to ever see the Skywalker family unit, to get all four of them interacting with each other,” confirmed the series’ writer and executive producer, Benji Samit, in an interview with StarWars.com.

To those familiar with Star Wars, having all four Skywalkers on screen at the same time seems like an impossible task, and is only happening because Pieces of the Past isn’t following the original timeline. As Star Wars fans know, Luke and Leia’s mother, Padmé, died shortly after giving birth to them. Their father, Anakin, a former Jedi, turned to the dark side before the twins were even born.

Luke would eventually meet his father as an adult when they battled in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, in arguably one of the most memorable moments of the entire Star Wars trilogy.

As for how Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy will handle the storyline, fans who watched the first season of the show are already familiar with the fact that the series doesn’t follow any of the traditional Star Wars rules or timelines. Instead, it looks at familiar characters in a new light and puts them in situations that one may never see in a live-action version of Star Wars.

Samit touched on how Padmé Amidala, who was not included in Season 1, will be introduced in Season 2 in a fun way. “Pirates are such a big part of Star Wars, but we wanted to do our fun, more Lego-ish take, and that’s where she came from,” Samit said.

The Skywalkers won’t be the only fan-favorite characters featured in the upcoming season of Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. Andor and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story android K-2SO will be featured in Lego form when the show premieres. Additionally, Alan Tudyk, who voiced K-2SO in both Andor and Rogue One, will be back to voice the LEGO version of the character.

Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy first premiered in 2024. The new season will continue the story of Sig Greebling, voiced by Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo. In the new season, Sig and his friends go up against a purple rift that puts many beloved Star Wars characters into unexpected mashups.

All the episodes of Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past will premiere on Disney+ on Sept. 19.
