Ahead of the BBC show’s highly-anticipated Friday finale, BBC Creative has displayed a Traitors-themed projection on the White Cliffs of Dover.
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, The Traitors follows 22 contestants as they try to find the traitors among them who kill off players in the middle of the night in an attempt to win a cash prize of up to £120,000.
The projection reads: “The time for chalk is almost over.”
Susan Ayton, creative director at BBC Creative, said: “The Traitors has become a true national obsession, and we wanted to mark the show’s final week with something suitably dramatic.”
The phrase is a play on words of Winkleman’s well-known phrase, “the time for talk is over,” which ends the roundtable discussions, prompting players to vote to decide who is the next to be banished from the castle.
The display also includes The Traitors’ logo above the text and is accompanied by projections of green and red firepits.
This is a nod to the fire of truth, a firepit in the show’s finale which is used by contestants to decide whether to end the game, or to keep banishing players.
Finalists vote by choosing a pouch which is thrown into the fire. If the fire turns red, it indicates a vote to banish again, but if it turns green, it means the player is voting to end the game.
Faithfuls choose to end the game when they believe all traitors have been banished, and if they are correct they win a share of the prize, but if any traitors remain they take the prize money.
The Traitors continues on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesday at 20:00 GMT.
