Former Israeli ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan said there is no doubt the US will launch some scale of attack against Iran. In an interview with Ynet studio, Erdan stated unequivocally that President Trump is moving large forces not just to threaten but also to implement action.

Erdan noted ongoing disagreements with the US over opening the Rafah crossing. “There are many disagreements with the US on opening the Rafah crossing, and there are still conditions that Israel has left in order to fully open it,” he said.

On Iran specifically, Erdan expressed certainty about American military action. “Unequivocally – there is no doubt we will see an American attack of some scale. Trump is moving large forces not just to threaten but also to implement,” he told the outlet.

The former ambassador voiced deeper concern about Washington’s motivations. “What should frighten us more than anything is that the US is doing all this to get Iran to sign a nuclear deal again. Even if it is improved, it’s a fraudulent agreement destined to fail,” Erdan said.

Erdan served as Israel’s permanent representative to the United Nations from 2020 until 2024. His comments come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing discussions about Gaza ceasefire arrangements and Iran’s regional activities.
