Israeli artist and combat soldier Albert Levi with his artwork.
As winter’s chill set in, hundreds of members of the Jewish community gathered across the Northeast to hear the moving and resonant story of Israeli artist and combat soldier Albert Levi, whose experience on the battlefield led him to create something beautiful: art rooted in connection. Hosted in twelve cities throughout the region by Israel Bonds’ Women’s Division, Albert shared an emotional firsthand account of his time serving as a combat soldier in Gaza, bearing witness to the ugliness of war, and how this experience ultimately led him to create art that captured what Jews and Israelis across the diaspora felt, but couldn’t quite articulate. “My art became more than an expression. It became a voice. A way to share what we, as Israelis and Jews, were going through. To show our strength, our pain and our unity,” Albert said. For many attendees, this sparked a familiar feeling, leaving the room quietly inspired and deeply moved. Guests were encouraged to donate their Israel bonds to Be’lev Echad, an organization whose proceeds support the recovery of wounded IDF soldiers, a cause about which Albert is passionate. As the event came to an end, guests enjoyed a live painting demonstration as Albert splattered paint onto an empty canvas, bringing the Tree of Life, an important symbol of community and divine connection in Judaism, to life. Through his art, Albert Levi reminded guests of the power of shared purpose, the strength of connection across communities and the ways inspiration can be transformed into meaningful action. By supporting Israel Bonds, we can extend that impact, creating a lasting legacy for generations to come. Since its founding more than seven decades ago, Development Corporation for Israel (known as Israel Bonds) and its affiliates around the world have generated over $55 billion in investments worldwide. With strong rates and deep symbolic meaning, Israel bonds provide a powerful way to strengthen Israel’s economy and maintain a personal connection to the Jewish State and the people.
