The Shin Bet and IDF eliminated Hamas terrorist Bassel al-Himuni, responsible for the murder of 16 Israeli civilians in the 2004 Beersheba bus bombings. Al-Himuni was eliminated in a strike carried out last week in the Gaza Strip, in response to violations of the ceasefire agreement. In August 2004, al-Himuni sent suicide bombers to carry out a double attack on two buses in Beersheba, where 16 Israeli civilians were murdered and approximately 100 others were wounded. Al-Himuni was deported to Gaza after being released from prison as part of the ‘Shalit deal.’
