Following our previous look at an opening for a Dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia, we are using this week’s edition of our Job Highlights series to explore an open role on Archinect Jobs for a Designer at Henning Larsen.
The role, based in New York City, calls for an individual who will “contribute to the design and delivery of complex architectural projects across multiple phases.” Among the requirements for the role are three or more years of postgraduate professional experience in architectural practice, as well as graphic, modelling, and documentation skills.

The open role at Henning Larsen offers us the opportunity to explore recent developments from the firm. Late last year, the firm won a competition for a swimming pool in Gothenburg with a structure of wood and recycled bricks. Also in 2025, the firm broke ground on a rammed-earth campus in Uganda formed from soil excavated on-site.

The firm was active in design and architecture events last year. In October, we included the firm’s Germany Pavilion in our roundup of Expo 2025 Osaka pavilions, for which the firm provided landscape design. At Milan Design Week, meanwhile, the firm showcased the potential for mycelium and other alternative biogenic building materials in design through a mycelium pavilion.

In 2024, the firm released free catalogs on sustainable design. The first catalog, focused on exterior materials, was released in 2022. The latest updated edition now includes an interior materials catalog, covering options like wallboards, tiles, countertops, and finishes. Meanwhile, the exterior catalog now includes roofing and insulation materials, with refreshed data reflecting current manufacturing and environmental standards.
