After making history for Brazil in Sunday’s giant slalom, Lucas Pinheiro Braathen goes again in Monday’s slalom in pursuit of a second Olympic gold at Milano Cortina 2026.

Pinheiro Braathen became the first Brazilian and first South American ever to claim a medal at the Winter Games, and two days later he could add a second.

The 25-year-old is second in the Alpine skiing World Cup slalom standings this season, just one point behind Norway’s Atle Lie McGrath, and in what looks set to be an open and unpredictable race, defending champion Clement Noel of France is also eyeing the top spot.

Elsewhere, the stars will be out on Monday evening with Megan Oldham, Eileen Gu, Kirsty Muir and Mathilde Gremaud all headlining a huge freestyle skiing Big Air final.

The quartet are among the contenders at Livigno Snow Park with Gu the reigning Big Air champion from Beijing 2022, though it was Oldham, who won bronze in the slopestyle, who topped qualification.

Gremaud meanwhile has already defended her slopestyle Olympic title, while Muir is a medal hope for Team GB.
