Dispatches from the front line: 40 years of photography from Reuters
, The Sunday Times
Since the news agency Reuters founded its picture service on January 1 1985, it has published more than 14 million photographs. Starting with film and mechanical cameras, its purpose has remained the same since the beginning: to present the best news picture coverage of the world. Reuters photographers have continuously delivered, taking extraordinary pictures that tell incredible stories without bias, and winning multiple Pulitzer Prizes in the process. To mark the 40th anniversary of the service, a book of some of its most powerful photography is being published.
In the Moment: 40 Years of Reuters Photojournalism (Thames & Hudson £50) is published on Thursday. Order a copy at timesbookshop.co.uk
