Production
On the Edge is directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Pat Dimon and produced by Bright North USA and by FIS in collaboration with the Stifel U.S. Ski Team and Team USA.
“Growing up a lifelong skier in Vermont, I learned that what matters most often happens away from the gates and finish line,” said director Pat Dimon. “On the Edge is about seeing past the polished surface and dropping into the real line of World Cup racing—the grind of travel, the toll of injuries, the pressure, and the mindset it takes to be and stay at that level.”
On the Edge: World Cup Ski Racing premiered on January 30 on the ESPN app and on ESPN on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the United States. The series also launched on Disney+ across select markets in EMEA, APAC and Canada, with the first four episodes available to stream now.
Additional markets across EMEA and LATAM will launch this Friday, February 20, with the first three episodes, featuring athletes like Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, Lindsey Vonn, Franjo von Allmen, Marco Odermatt, Mikaela Shiffrin, Sofia Goggia, and others.
The deciding stages of the FIS World Cup, as well as the Olympic Winter Games, will chronicle in episode 5 (launch date currently TBC).
