On the day the staggering scale of Assaf Rappaport and his three partners’ exit from Wiz became clear – the Israeli startup was sold to Google in March 2025 for $32 billion – some dared to hope that part of the vast windfall might be directed toward the public struggle against the coalition of destruction and dictatorship that’s dragging the country downward. A Tel Aviv liberal, involved from the outset in the battle over Israel’s democratic character, was involved in that whole mind-boggling deal? There could hardly have been better news for the exhausted masses protesting in the streets for over two years and in dire need of a shot in the arm.
