Four years ago this month, Russia invaded Ukraine. The war that began in the wake of the invasion has had many ripple effects. One of them is a wave of Ukrainian refugees who fled for their lives. Many thought the war would last for a few months, after which they would be able to return home. Four years later, the war is far from over and the 5 million Ukrainian war refugees scattered around the world are still eligible for refugee status under international law.
