The £145 Reward Card included with Plusnet Full Fibre 500 is a £145 Plusnet Reward Card. This isn’t applied automatically – you’ll need to claim it once your broadband is live. Within two weeks of activation, Plusnet will send you an email with instructions on how to make your claim.

From the date of that email, you have two months to submit your claim online. Once approved, the card will be sent to you digitally and must be activated within three months of being issued. The whole process is quick, but missing the deadline means you’ll lose the reward, so keep an eye out for that email.

Why Plusnet Full Fibre 500 is great value

Plusnet’s Full Fibre 500 is a strong contender if you want top-end speeds without the premium price tag. At £30.99 per month on a 24-month contract, you’ll get average download speeds of 500Mbps and uploads of 75Mbps, with a guaranteed minimum of 275Mbps. Honestly? Although not the fastest package available from Plusnet (that’s Full Fibre 900) that’s still more speed than most households actually need!

But the appeal here isn’t only about speed – it’s also about affordability. Many big-name providers charge more for 500Mbps, but Plusnet offers very good value, and customer service that frequently wins awards. You don’t get the bells and whistles of some premium brands – you won’t get a swanky Wi-Fi 7 router for example, but the router you will get (see further down) is perfectly suited to the speeds it needs to deliver.

And right now, you’ll also receive a £145 Reward Card once you’re up and running. It goes a long way to lowering the effective cost in your first year (equates to nearly five months of free broadband), making this even better value.

Broadband speed to spare

With average downloads of 500Mbps and uploads of 75Mbps, backed by a guaranteed minimum of 275Mbps, this package is designed to handle whatever a you can throw at it. It’s not just enough to cover the basics – it leaves you with breathing space for all the extra demands that come with a modern, connected home.

Picture a typical evening: someone on a long video call, another streaming Netflix in 4K, a gamer deep into an online session or downloading the latest games and updates, and the rest of the household scrolling, streaming, or downloading on multiple devices. On slower broadband you’d soon run into buffering or complaints. With Plusnet Full Fibre 500, there’s plenty in reserve, so everyone gets what they need without the frustration you might sometimes run into on slower packages.

The upload speed on this package is 75Mbps, which is fairly standard for a 500Mbps Full Fibre package. It won’t break any records, but it is comfortably enough for video calls, sharing photos and files, or even the occasional Twitch or YouTube livestream. For most households, that’s all you’ll realistically need – and it’s a big step up from the single-digit upload speeds you’d get on a Standard Fibre deal.

Router

Every Plusnet Full Fibre package comes with the Hub Two router. While it doesn’t boast the very latest Wi-Fi tech, it’s a solid bit of kit that does the essentials well. It’s ‘Wi-Fi 5’, which means it’s not as cutting-edge as Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 routers you’ll see from some rivals, but in practice that that’s going to make very little real-world difference unless you’re trying the get the entire 500Mbps sent to one device over Wi-Fi. It’ll comfortably deliver the speeds you’re paying for across most homes when distributed between different devices using the internet at once.

The Hub Two is actually based on BT’s Smart Hub 2 hardware, just with Plusnet’s own branding (BT owns Plusnet). That means you’re getting a router that’s been proven reliable over a long period. It offers dual-band Wi-Fi, four gigabit Ethernet ports for wired connections, and the option to expand your coverage with mesh discs if you’ve got a bigger property or tricky Wi-Fi blackspots.

Plusnet Hub Two specs at a glance:

For everyday use, the Hub Two does the job without fuss. If you’ve got a larger house or walls that make Wi-Fi tricky, Plusnet’s Complete Wi-Fi service can extend the signal with extra discs. But for the majority of homes, the included Hub Two will be more than enough to keep everyone connected. If you need faster Wi-Fi, you could also add your own router if you wish.

How installation works with Plusnet Full Fibre 500

Because Plusnet runs on the Openreach network, the installation process depends on whether your home already has a Full Fibre connection in place. If it doesn’t, an engineer will visit to bring the fibre line into your property and connect it to a new socket indoors. That can mean running a cable from the street and, in many cases, drilling a small hole in an outside wall if there isn’t already one there. Once it’s set up, the engineer will connect your Hub Two and make sure everything is working before they leave.

If your home is already wired for Full Fibre, the process is quicker. In most cases Plusnet can simply post out the Hub Two for you to plug in yourself, meaning no engineer visit is needed. Either way, the switch is handled for you – once you’ve ordered, Plusnet will take care of contacting your old provider under Ofcom’s One Touch Switching rules. Most customers are up and running within a couple of hours on installation day.

Zero upfront costs

One of the nice things about this deal is that there’s nothing extra to pay at the start. Plusnet covers the installation and provides the Hub Two router as part of the package, so you won’t be hit with activation or delivery charges on your first bill.

It might sound like a small detail, but it does make a difference. Some other broadband providers still add setup fees of £30 or more, which bumps up the true cost of a new deal. With Plusnet, what you see is what you pay – just the monthly price and zero upfront costs.

Why Plusnet is one of the best providers

Plusnet may not be the biggest broadband provider in the UK, but it has built a reputation most of the giants would envy. Known for its straightforward packages and fair pricing, Plusnet consistently earns praise from Ofcom and independent surveys for customer satisfaction. In fact, it has picked up multiple awards over the years for providing some of the best support in the industry, with friendly UK-based teams that are easy to get hold of when you need them.

So, yeah, Plusnet’s customer service is widely regarded as among the very best. And while the included Hub Two router may not boast Wi-Fi 6 or 7, it’s more than capable of supporting 500Mbps speeds throughout a typical home, with the option of Wi-Fi boosters if you need to extend the range.

Overall, Plusnet combines fast broadband, competitive pricing, and an industry-leading customer service record. For households that want more than just speed on paper, it’s a choice of provider with real peace of mind attached. If you want to dig deeper, check out our Plusnet Broadband review.
