Forget the office siren trend—Jessica Simpson is bringing the ranch to the boardroom for a big music announcement. As the singer transitions back to her country music roots with her Nashville Canyon albums, she’s been infusing some horse girl-coded style into everything from a bedazzled sequin LBD to a Y2K-coded babydoll top. And on Friday, the “Leave” singer gave power dressing the western treatment in a bold lace-up purple velvet suit while announcing she’s returning to the stage.
“Things are heating up in May! First stop Tulsa….,” Simpson captioned a March 6 Instagram video, in which she announced an upcoming March 23 concert at the Hard Rock Live in Oklahoma. The Dukes of Hazzard alum shared the big reveal by stepping out of a giant walk-in freezer, telling viewers, “Brr! Hey y’all, guess what? I’m coming back to the stage.”
Despite the recent release of her back-to-back country music albums, Simpson teased she’d be “back to the metal” with her band at the upcoming show while also hinting at some additional dates. However, she ditched her punk princess style, instead giving her two-piece dark plum velvet suit a rodeo twist, thanks to bold braided fringe accents that covered the bottom half of her peplum jacket and went all the way to the ground.

As Simpson turned to go back into the freezer, she revealed that the purple string dripped from the lace-up accents around her waist as well as a woven belt with intricate loops and braiding in the back. Simpson’s purple suit contrasted the cowgirl-approved details with its structured padded shoulders, a plunging neckline, and matching trousers.

The “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer styled her golden-brown hair in a sleek, straight style with face-framing layers and a middle part that showed off slightly darker chocolate roots. Simpson added some boho sparkle with layers of colorful gemstone statement necklaces, and accentuated her features with a dark brown smoky eyeshadow, sculpted cheekbones, and a nude lip.
