During Paris Fashion Week, Vogue100 partnered with jewelry maison AKANO to celebrate the launch of Omenala, the new high jewelry collection, with an intimate cocktail soirée hosted at The Peninsula Paris.
The unveiling marked a defining moment for the Nigerian brand on the international high jewelry stage. Omenala, meaning “heritage,” explores legacy as something lived, worn, and carried forward. Guests gathered to marvel at the collection up close and hear how each piece reflects a dialogue between ancestral inspiration and contemporary design.
“My journey with jewelry started at home, with my grandmother,” Akunna Nwala-Akano, founder and creative director, told Vogue. “She gifted me my very first pair of diamond studs and shared the intention behind them—a belief that beauty is forever. That lesson has since guided everything I create.”
True to this philosophy, pieces from the Omenala line are designed to be worn, remembered, and eventually passed down, bridging generations through artistry, memory, and craft. Each piece becomes more than adornment; it is a story, a keepsake, and a legacy.
