This season, Max Mara and Sportmax drew from different inspirations for their fall/winter collections, but shared a common vision: dressing women who move with purpose.Kimberley Anne Woltemas at Max Mara’s fall/winter 2026 show. Whether she’s heading into a boardroom or stepping out for an evening with friends, she’s confident, graceful and impeccably dressed.

The Max Mara woman is refined, powerful and purposeful. For the brand’s fall/winter 2026 collection, titled History and Modernity, creative director Ian Griffiths looked to history for inspiration. The collection is inspired by Matilda of Canossa, an 11th-century Italian noblewoman considered to be one of the most important governing figures of the Italian Middle Ages. She was known for her intelligence, strength and diplomacy.

Griffiths brought those traits to life through strong silhouettes: structured shoulders, gored cashmere skirts, suede tunics and sleek mid-thigh boots and dresses detailed with metal rivets.
