Last night at the Grand Palais, artistic director Matthieu Blazy presented his second ready-to-wear collection for Chanel, his fourth in total for the house including January’s dreamy haute couture extravaganza and December’s New York subway station-backdropped Metier’s d’art debut. It was, undoubtedly, the place to be for any double C-clad celebutante, with the house’s new sovereign transforming the 19th-century Parisian landmark into a scene of a contemporary construction site befit with primary-coloured cranes that towered over the runway. ‘I was interested in the idea of building a dream, a work in progress,’ he told Vogue.

Naturally, a rolodex of megastars, megababes and mega-connected society swans congregated en masse to bear witness to a new season of 2020s-ready chic from the historic French Maison, with Blazy continuing to blaze his path to total cool-girl domination. Margot Robbie, Kylie Minogue, Lily Rose-Depp and even Oprah Winfrey were in attendance.
