2,600 people without power as storms, gusty winds hit Southwest Ohio

AES Ohio customers in Miami County accounted for 1,420 outages, according to the outage map.

Strong winds are impacting the region and AES Ohio crews are working to make repairs as quickly as possible, the company said.

AES Ohio reminded people to stay away from downed power lines and to call 877-468-8243 to report any outages.

In total, AES Ohio was reporting the following outages:

• Champaign County: 296

• Darke County: 436

• Greene County: 170

• Miami County: 1,420

• Montgomery County: 249

• Preble County: 70

• Warren County: 1

As of 2:40 p.m., Duke Energy reported the following outages:

• Butler County: 2

• Warren County: 2

Ohio Edison had 25 customers without power in Clark County and 11 in Champaign County.
