The thriller genre can encapsulate a wide range of stories, which is exactly what makes it so exciting. They’re exciting, fast-paced, and suspenseful, though that can come in the form of everything from Hijack’s mid-air negotiations to The Night Agent’s twisty spy action.

Whether it’s thriller shows based on true stories or fictional plots that grip viewers from the start, there hasn’t been a shortage of worthwhile titles for fans of the genre. In fact, the genre has something for everyone, and these upcoming thrillers are no exception.

Imperfect Women (Apple TV)

Limited Series Premieres March 18th

Headlined by Kerry Washington, Elisabeth Moss, hot off the conclusion of The Handmaid’s Tale, and House of Cards alums Kate Mara and Corey Stoll, Imperfect Women is bringing some of TV’s biggest players together. Based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, Imperfect Women is joining the ranks of tried and true psychological thriller murder mystery adaptations.

Following a group of put-together women whose lives begin to unravel in the fallout of a murder, Imperfect Women follows in the footsteps of Big Little Lies, the mega-hit series that launched a sub-genre that hasn’t lost steam since its 2017 premiere. Similar successes like Sharp Objects and All Her Fault continued to prove an all-consuming interest in this particular brand of psychological thriller.

This saturated genre has set the bar high for the upcoming Imperfect Women, but it’s hard to imagine this cast striking a single false note. With intrigue baked into the premise and performances that are guaranteed to deliver, this show is nothing but potential.

Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+)

Season 2 Premieres March 24th

Charlie Cox’s return to the character after starring in Netflix’s 2015 Daredevil series was rightfully meticulous. After initially planning an 18-episode first season of Daredevil: Born Again, it was decided that those episodes would instead be split between two shorter seasons. This allowed the creative team to take their time developing the tone and story of the series, an endeavor that paid off.

Born Again ultimately embodies a similar energy to Netflix’s Daredevil, which was praised for its gritty, grounded feel that stood out within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The choice not to abandon the character and atmosphere work in Daredevil was smart; the show had a positive reputation and an audience ready to see a return of that Daredevil.

Yet Born Again was sure to welcome new viewers with its down-to-earth approach to fresh storylines. The decision to break the first season into two is especially exciting now, as it likely means that the story will pick up where it left off and evolve seamlessly, saving Born Again from a sophomore slump. Though the same may not be able to be said for season 3, which has already been confirmed.

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen (Netflix)

Limited Series Drops March 26th

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen

The upcoming Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is star-studded both in front of and behind the camera, though that’s just about all that’s known about the upcoming horror/thriller limited series. Daisy Jones & the Six breakout performer Camila Morrone and The White Lotus season 2’s Adam DiMarco star as an engaged couple in the week leading up to their wedding.

Creator and showrunner Haley Z. Boston confirmed that “the show is about the fear of marrying the wrong person,” but Netflix added that they “can’t reveal too much else.” From the teaser, it seems evident that the show’s tension and suspense will come through primarily through an ominous, unsettling atmosphere.

And there’s no one better to deliver that than the Duffer Brothers after concluding Stranger Things, and Weronika Tofilska, the Emmy-nominated Baby Reindeer director, who will all serve as executive producers. With this cast and these creators, just knowing that Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is enough to pique our interest.

Beef (Netflix)

Season 2 Drops April 16th

Having begun as a critically acclaimed limited series, Beef has rebranded itself as an anthology in the wake of its success. Beef’s first outing was an unexpected sensation, blending impressive character work, genuine suspense, and elements of surrealism, all while championing Asian American culture.

Well-deserved after their layered and rich performances, it also elevated stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong to full-fledged leading men and women. While the pair won’t appear in Beef season 2, which will feature a completely new cast and story, Yeun and Wong will continue to be involved behind the scenes as executive producers.

Season 2 will feature Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny in a story about two feuding couples against the backdrop of an exclusive country club. As more details are revealed, the idea of Beef as an anthology is beginning to come into focus, and season 2 is primed to bring more star-studded, emotionally charged drama.

Season 4 Premieres April 19th

From season 3’s ending took the biggest step yet towards pulling back the curtain on the show’s overarching mystery. As scary as it is puzzling, From indulges viewers in the fear of the unknown while also providing the thrill of putting the picture together, piece by piece. The show’s DNA bears a striking resemblance to Lost, but with an arguably better cast and story — that is, if it can stick the landing.

Lost alum Harold Perrineau puts in a dramatically improved performance as Boyd, leader and makeshift sheriff of the town’s group of survivors. While everyone is on their own personal journey to reckon with these eerie, mysterious circumstances, From also pays due attention to how the survivors coexist and the friction that develops between them.

Some lament that From’s story is merely going around in demented circles, but, like Lost, the show is just as much about its character study as it is its mystery box premise. Nonetheless, strong foreshadowing and pieces that are beginning to click together promise that this thriller is indeed heading towards a planned destination.

The Gentlemen (Netflix)

Season 2 Confirmed For 2026 Release

Theo James’ action comedy is the kind of thriller that snowballs from one episode to the next, making it impossible to stop watching. The Gentlemen is a Guy Ritchie adventure through and through, though it differentiates itself from its predecessor, Ritchie’s movie of the same name.

The dissonant energies of the highbrow Halstead dukedom and estate against the world of organized crime create an energetic, unique setting that promises fun in every episode. Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito gives credibility to the criminal element of the story, which delivers equal doses of comedy and stakes. While season 1 wrapped up well, there’s room for plenty more antics in season 2.

Slow Horses (Apple TV)

Season 6 Confirmed For 2026 Premiere

Having managed to put out a new season every year since it began, none of which have dipped below 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, Slow Horses is truly the gift that keeps on giving. With a distinct lack of charm, Gary Oldman brings Slough House to vivid life, while Jack Lowden’s River Cartwright is a refreshing action heartthrob whose ego is kept relentlessly in check.

Each season brings a thrilling new adventure for the Slow Horses, who are now proving themselves to be just as — if not more — capable than the rest of MI5’s “dogs.” The show brings a depth and nuance to its take on the spy thriller by continuing to return to a lack of trust within MI5 itself. Power plays, test missions, and inside jobs gone wrong within the Park make Slough House an endearing underdog.

In keeping with Slow Horses’ theme of seeing MI5 cause as many problems as it solves, season 6 will see the Slow Horses on the run from their own organization after their whole department is effectively erased from MI5’s databases. The only thing that could make the thriller’s return even better is if Rosalind Eleazar returns along with it as River’s straight man counterpart, Louisa Guy.
