‘Stranger Things’ and new show ‘Boots’ are top shows this fall

Fox’s mystery drama “Murder in a Small Town” returns to television just in time for the fall.
In the second season, which airs this week, Rossif Sutherland’s Karl Alberg will grapple with “an increased caseload and limited resources,” according to Fox.
Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk, who plays Cassandra Lee, expressed excitement for fans to see the upcoming storylines.
“Because the characters are established, we get to delve into some of the characters in the town,” Kreuk told WTVO. “We get to go deeper into the relationship between Karl and Cassandra. Seeing these two navigate their way through a relationship at the ages that they are at is really lovely.”
The show will also feature a guest performance from the late, renowned actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner in the third episode. “The Cosby Show” star passed away after drowning in Costa Rica in July.

When does ‘Murder in a Small Town’ Season 2 premiere?
The drama series premieres on Fox on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 8 p.m. ET.
According to Fox, the second season will have 10 episodes.
Malcolm-Jamal Warner guest stars in Season 2
Malcolm Jamal Warner will guest-star in the third episode titled “Mother Love.” The episode will air on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
In the episode, Warner portrays a “protective” father named Richard Buscombe. Per Fox, the actor’s character becomes a top suspect in the murder probe of his ex-wife, who was killed after coming back to the town.
“Still heartbroken years after the split, Richard wears his anger and pain on his sleeves, but his only goal in life is to keep his daughter safe,” the episode description states.
In a recent interview with People, the showrunner and executive producer of the show gave insight into Warner’s final television performance.
“His performance — as a struggling single dad, fiercely protective of his daughter — just glows with integrity. He found levels that I hadn’t imagined,” Ian Weir told the outlet.
