Arcadis today announced that it was selected by the Houston Galveston Area Council to provide Scenario Planning Services for the organization ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026 ™.

By harnessing Big Data and advanced modeling, Arcadis will design a comprehensive transportation management plan that prepares stakeholders ahead of fan arrivals and supports Houston’s broader goals to boost local business revenue, reduce neighborhood congestion, improve public safety, and showcase the city’s appeal as a premier destination for future large-scale events. The international event, is expected to attract an influx of approximately 500,000 visitors to Houston.

Drawing on data from daily traffic patterns around stadiums, points of interest, congestion trends, and past mega-events, Arcadis will develop an interactive tool that enables stakeholders to compare scenarios, communicate feedback, and access heatmaps and flowcharts—delivering effective event management now and for future occasions.
