Samsung bumped up the wired and wireless charging speeds for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The device is now capable of wirelessly charging at 25W, a significant improvement over previous models.

However, some users have found that their device doesn’t charge wirelessly at 25W. That’s because they need to use a faster wired charger for the charging pad.

You need to buy another accessory

The wireless charging speeds were increased for both the Galaxy S26+ and the Galaxy S26 Ultra at 20W and 25W, respectively. The relevant wireless charging pad from Samsung that can support charging devices at these speeds is the EP-P2900.

Samsung guides that to hit wireless charging speeds of 25W on the Galaxy S26 Ultra and 20W on the Galaxy S26+, the wireless charging pad must be connected to a 45W or higher charger.

If you use a 25W charger with the wireless charging pad, for example, then it will only charge your device wirelessly at 15W. This limitation also applies to third-party Qi 2.2 charging pads.

This means you need to upgrade your charging adapter, if you don’t already have a 45W one, before buying this wireless charger. That’s going to add up, as the EP-P2900 wireless charger costs $49.99 and a 45W charging adapter costs an additional $49.99.
