What’s New March 23, 2026

A solid talent pipeline is emerging out of North Metropolitan TAFE’s Radio & Podcasting program in Perth, with a third consecutive BOOM Radio leader recruited by the Capital Radio Network.
Jack Boyd, the 2025 North Metropolitan TAFE Radio & Podcasting Student of the Year and current Content Director and Breakfast Host of BOOM Radio, has been appointed to host Snow FM Breakfast in the New South Wales Snowy Mountains, joining fellow BOOM graduates Bec Kempin and April Hammond at the station.

Boyd’s appointment further reinforces BOOM Radio’s reputation as not just a training platform, but a launchpad where performance is directly translating into industry opportunity.
Phillip Vinciullo, Head of Radio & Podcasting at North Metropolitan TAFE, said “Bec, April and now Jack have each stepped through the same Content Director role at BOOM Radio and into the Capital Radio Network. That level of consistency sends a very strong message to industry about the calibre of talent coming through our program.”
Bryant Van Dijken, Lecturer – Radio & Podcasting at North Metropolitan TAFE, added “Our students are not only developing skills, they’re developing leadership capability in a live broadcast environment, and industry is clearly valuing that.”
As the 2026 cohort continues to develop, industry attention remains firmly fixed on BOOM Radio’s next generation of leaders.
