Samsung has started rolling out its Android 16 update to Galaxy phones and tablets, with a schedule running through November at least. Here’s when to expect the update on your Galaxy device, and which devices are already eligible for the update.

What’s new in Android 16 on Samsung Galaxy?

Android 16 ushers in a new design style on Pixel devices with Google’s Material 3 Expressive, but the update isn’t quite as major on Samsung Galaxy devices. That’s largely because One UI 7 just recently delivered an overhaul to Samsung’s style, so One UI 8 is mostly a function update with some new features and refinements.

Those are just a few of the new features, but overall One UI 8 will feel pretty familiar to One UI 7.

Samsung Galaxy devices with Android 16 – The full list

Samsung started the stable rollout of One UI 8, based on Android 16, on September 15, 2025. The update is rolling out now to the Galaxy S25 series globally, and is also available out of the box on Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Galaxy S25 FE, and the Galaxy Tab S11 series.

This list will be continuously updated over the coming months. Check back regularly!

Galaxy S devices with Android 16

Kicking things off in September, Samsung is rolling out Android 16 to the Galaxy S25 series globally. This includes all four devices, and the new Galaxy S25 FE ships with One UI 8 out of the box. Ahead of schedule, Samsung then followed up with stable One UI 8 updates for the entire Galaxy S24 series.

Galaxy foldables with Android 16

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are currently the only Galaxy foldables with Android 16, with One UI 8 being pre-installed on both. Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 have also been updated well ahead of their expected schedule, though only in certain regions.

Other Galaxy foldables will follow in October and November, according to Samsung’s current schedule.

Galaxy tablets with Android 16

The new Galaxy Tab S11 series ships with Android 16 out of the box, with the update set to expand to other Galaxy tablets in the coming months.
