On March 21, K-pop artist XIUMIN celebrated his 36th birthday with two special fan meetings in Seoul. True to the event’s title, XIUMIN’s Voyage Crew – Join Now!, the singer took his fans on a journey from one “island” to the next, blending immersive performances with heartfelt interactions.

For the first show, XIUMIN appeared in a blue-themed outfit matching both his representative and favorite color. He officially set sail with a performance of “Fireflies,” his sweet, delicate vocals filling the room against a backdrop of nautical props.

Following a brief opening talk, a playful “inauguration ceremony” was held where XIUMIN and his fans took a solemn oath to laugh, enjoy, and cheer throughout the voyage. As the captain, he led his crew—the audience—in a pledge to stay enthusiastic and resilient, even if rough waves were to come their way.

The two-hour event offered plenty of opportunities to get to know the artist better. During one segment, XIUMIN shared a surprising hobby: he has recently started playing the multiplayer game Aion 2. Later, during an “OX” (Yes/No) game where fans competed for a signed polaroid, he revealed that he has watched every episode of the Netflix mystery-thriller The Art of Sarah and admitted that his legs are the body part he feels most confident about lately.

Fans also witnessed his competitive streak during various challenges. Whether he was balancing on a yoga ball for 20 seconds or memorizing image fragments, XIUMIN successfully cleared every task. Yet, that competitive energy was perfectly balanced by his signature cuteness, especially during his dance covers of ILLIT’s “Magnetic,” TWS’ “Overdrive” and YENA’s “Catch Catch.”

This charm was also met with constant cheers of “Cute!” from the crowd. Whether he was simply putting on his shoes, wiping away sweat, or taking a sip of water, his fans found every move adorable—and we understood why.

The night wouldn’t have been complete without the music that defines him: XIUMIN serenaded the audience with soothing, soulful stages of “Make You LaLa,” “You,” “Love Letter” and “Love is U.”

As a true birthday celebration, the event featured a signature blue-themed cake and a collective “Happy Birthday” sing-along that filled the venue.

Even though it was his special day, XIUMIN seemed more focused on ensuring the fans’ happiness above all else. The evening captured every facet of his identity: the polished, professional artist on stage, the quirky, playful and genuine person he is when he’s simply with his fans.
