This month marks the 20th anniversary of the Real Housewives franchise, but it’s not all Champagne toasts in Bravoland. Specifically, Sarah Michelle Gellar had some tough feedback on this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and now Andy Cohen has some strong words for Gellar. Hopefully, this doesn’t escalate to the drink-throwing stage.
The saga began last week, when Gellar did an interview with “Page Six Radio” — which just so happens to record in Cohen’s “Radio Andy” studio at SiriusXM. After confirming that Gellar was a die-hard Bravo stan, the “Page Six” hosts asked if she was living for this season of RHOBH. Her response? “No.” She clarified. “I think it’s boring.” She had kind words for Rachel Zoe (“a great addition”) as well as Bozoma Saint John, Kathy Hilton, and Jennifer Tilly. “But it’s slow. It’s just picking up now.” Gellar also shared her unfiltered thoughts on new cast member Amanda Frances: “I don’t think she’s polarizing, I just don’t think anyone enjoys her.” These are not particularly controversial opinions about this season (especially among Bravo recappers and podcasters), but Cohen took umbrage.

On his own show, Cohen offered some unfiltered thoughts of his own. “[The interview] was in our studio and then [‘Page Six’ posted] it, and it’s like, ‘Sarah Michelle Gellar hates the Housewives of Beverly Hills’ with all this ‘Radio Andy’ signage everywhere,” he said. “And I go, ‘You know what? Don’t bring someone into my studio to trash my show. How about the door is locked when I leave? How’s that?’” He concluded, “She’s wrong, by the way.” Well, there goes my hope of Gellar eventually joining RHOBH. Though I guess as a happily married woman, she probably wouldn’t fit in anyway.
