The second key visual and second promotional video for the new Ghost in the Shell TV anime (set to air from July on Kansai TV and Fuji TV every Tuesday at 11:00 PM) have been released.

The second key visual features the fully prosthetic cyborg protagonist Motoko Kusanagi alongside the AI-equipped think tank Fuchikoma. The illustration is newly drawn by Shuhei Handa, who serves as character designer and chief animation director for the series. It captures the iconic visual style seen throughout Masamune Shirow’s original work and past Ghost in the Shell entries.

The second promotional video is composed of newly revealed main anime footage, offering a glimpse into the intense action and drama created by the unique members of Public Security Section 9 in this installment.

Ghost in the Shell is a sci-fi work originally created by manga artist Masamune Shirow, which began serialization in 1989 in Young Magazine Kaizokuban. The story follows Motoko Kusanagi, a full-body cyborg with exceptional abilities in cyber warfare and combat, who leads the offensive unit Public Security Section 9 as they confront increasingly complex and dangerous crimes.

Known for its highly detailed artwork, cyberpunk elements, and philosophical themes, the series explores the fusion of humanity and technology as well as questions of personal identity. It has influenced many creators worldwide. Three volumes have been published by Kodansha: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, 2 MANMACHINE INTERFACE, and 1.5 HUMAN-ERROR PROCESSOR.
