Lizzo thinks it’s about damn time she opens up about her sex life.
The “Cuz I Love You” singer revealed she didn’t lose her virginity until 2020, when she was in her 30s, due to a pact she’d made when she was younger not to do the deed until she’d won a Grammy. After earning her first award from the Recording Academy in 2020, she made good on her promise.
“I was a late bloomer,” Lizzo, 37, said on the March 31 episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast. “I lied about it for a long time.”
“I just promised myself when I was younger that I wouldn’t have sex until I won a Grammy,” she added. “I’m so dead ass.”
While Lizzo (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) clarified that “it was not the night of Grammys” that she lost her v-card, she did share that it was within the same year that she nabbed her Grammys for Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2020 event.

Though the “About Damn Time” hitmaker is known for advocating for sexual expression, she revealed that she felt shame about having sex later in life, noting how good it felt to get the “weight” off her chest now.
“I used to lie,” she said, later adding, “It was so embarrassing. I was in a friend group of girls. We were all girling one night and it was like, ‘Wait, Lizzo are you a virgin?'”
“I said, ‘I love the D.’ I said that,” she explained. “And it held me over for a little while.”

She also shared how her religious beliefs enabled her to wait before exploring that side of herself.
“When we were teenagers at my church,” she explained, “we all made a pact that we wouldn’t do anything before marriage. And then, I was just so scared. Like, nobody wanted to kiss me.”
And losing her virginity wasn’t the only milestone Lizzo reached later in life: she also revealed she didn’t have her first kiss until she was 21.

“It was terrible,” she said of the experience. “I was actually very upset about it because it was a New Year’s Eve thing and he forced it on me. I was really mad and I was like, ‘My first kiss is ruined.’ I was so mad.”
While she didn’t divulge who her firsts were with, Lizzo noted how her boyfriend Myke Wright—who has been dating the artist since 2022—has made up for her past unpleasant interactions.
“I don’t like tonguing or swapping of spit,” Lizzo admitted. “The only person I like it with is my man. I can’t stand it with anyone else.”

In her 2024 memoir Rebel Rising, the Pitch Perfect alum revealed she lost her virginity at the age 35 to a man named “Mickey,” though she didn’t tell her partner that it was her first time having sex.
She later confirmed in an interview with the New York Times that the man was her How to Be Single costar Mickey Gooch Jr. “He was the first person to read it,” Rebel said of her memoir. “So he knows now.”

The Transformers actress was 17 years old when she first had sex with her first “real” boyfriend. “I’ve had plenty of awkward sex, but that first time was not awkward,” she told Cosmopolitan in 2010. “I was in love with him, and it was nice.”

“I was 14 and I’d just lost my virginity,” the supermodel told Love magainze, recalling that it happened just before she was discovered as a model. “So I thought I was the bee’s knees.”
Brooke Shields
The supermodel revealed she lost her virginity at 22 years old to actor Dean Cain while the two were students at Princeton University.
“I actually kind of tumbled off [the bed] and started running,” she wrote in her 2014 memoir There Was a Little Girl, describing how overwhelmed she was after. “I was buck naked streaking down the hallway and running like I had just stolen someone’s wallet.”

The Victoria’s Secret model waited until marriage to first have sex. That time came in 2009 when, at 27 years old, she wed basketball player Marko Jarić. (The pair divorced in 2016.)
“Sex is just for after marriage,” she told GQ in 2006, adding that men she dates “have to respect that this is my choice. If there’s no respect, that means they don’t want me.”

“I was 14 when I lost my virginity, so this is still bowl-cut guy,” the Suite Life of Zack & Cody alum recalled in a 2023 Call Her Daddy interview. “I was on a family trip in Florida, and I met this girl who was older, so that’s already dubious.”

In 2024’s Cher: The Memoir, Part One, the pop icon said she lost her virginity at age 14 to a neighborhood boy who dismissed her in front of his friends despite the kisses they had shared in private.
“[He] was sweet enough when we were alone, but as soon as his friends came around, he’d treat me like an embarrassing kid,” Cher recounted. “I was so hurt when he did that, I had revenge sex with him. I had never wanted to. Otherwise I would have done it one of the five hundred other times he asked.”

I was on holiday with my dad and my brother and obviously I didn’t come back to my room and I sort of slept in the next morning.”
According to Lily, her dad even called the police to launch a missing child investigation since she was 12 at the time. “It was a little bit traumatic,” she confessed. “I didn’t have sex for a little while after that.”

“I lost my virginity at 13 to a girl and a guy,” the Bachelor Nation star divulged in a 2017 interview with Andy Cohen, though clarified that he wouldn’t necessarily describe the experience as a threesome. “The girl was two years older than me, and the guy was, I would say, around 16.”
