Let’s check in with the rest of the Grey Sloan Memorial staff, shall we?

JO’S BABY BLUES | Jo officially returned to work this week, diving right in with an emergency C-section. Her obsession with finding the source of her patient’s bleeding was beginning to worry the other doctors, but Jo was ultimately vindicated when they realized that a blood clot was blocking an important part of the patient’s scan. Rather than celebrating a job well done, however, Jo spent the night wondering if her patient would forever resent her baby after almost dying in childbirth… which is apparently how Jo has been feeling about her own similar experience. When Link asked why Jo didn’t say something sooner, she told him, “I just wanted to move on, I didn’t want to worry you. I really love our girls.”

MAMA HUNT RETURNS | Debra Mooney guest-starred as Evelyn Hunt for the first time since Season 18, though we wish our reunion with Owen’s mother was under better circumstances. Evelyn was admitted to the OR after suffering a mini stroke, but she regained enough stability to tell Owen that he’ll be much happier if he starts being honest about his feelings, rather than bottling things up like his father did. When Evelyn took a turn for the worse, Amelia reluctantly operated on her, with Owen promising that it would be on him if anything went wrong. Not only was the procedure a success, but there was something nice about both Amelia and Teddy being in there with their shared ex-mother-in-law. Man, this hospital really is incestuous, isn’t it?

AMELIA FIGHTS FOR TONI | Toni’s ex-wife remains the show’s ultimate off-screen villain. This week, Celine revealed that she wants to get back together, which Toni then shared with Amelia. It put her in an awkward spot, especially because Amelia didn’t feel like she deserved a say given how new their relationship is. But after crushing that risky operation on Owen’s mother, an empowered Amelia put her foot down, telling Toni that “starting over” isn’t going to fix the problems that were already there. “This isn’t just a crush anymore,” Amelia said. “Not for me.” And judging by that kiss, we’d say Toni feels the same way.

SIMONE QUESTIONS WES | Wes’ advice to Dr. Spencer made Simone worry that Wes might be using her, since he’s only wanted physical intimacy since returning home and has yet to talk about what happened with his brother. He put those fears to rest, telling her that he’s not ready to talk about it with anyone, but when the time comes, she’ll be the first person he trauma dumps on.

Well, we have a lot think about over the next four weeks: How is Bailey is going to get out of this mess? Do you think there could be something real between Wes and Dr. Spencer? And with only a few episodes left, how do you predict Teddy and Owen will be written out at the end of the season? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
