The recent restructuring of Audacy’s regional sales operations and the appointment of ten Regional VPs also included the elimination of the Market Manager positions in markets where the company operates. Several executives have moved into new roles at Audacy or exited the company.
In announcing the restructuring, Audacy CEO Kelli Turner said some Market Managers will transition into new roles or remain with the company temporarily as advisors.
Those include Atlanta’s Rick Caffey, who is transitioning into a chairman role, and Boston based Mike Thomas, who is named Senior VP of Programming for the cluster and takes on the corporate role of Sports Format Vice President.
“Rick has accepted a position as Chairman and will continue to advise our Atlanta market and help grow the appeal of our urban format for both listeners and clients, working closely with our Urban Format Vice President, Skip Dillard,” Chief Business Officer Chris Oliviero said in a memo. “Mike Thomas has accepted a position as SVP Programming Boston and Sports Format Vice President, based at WEEI, and will collaborate with fellow Sports Format Vice Presidents Mitch Rosen and Chris Kinard on our industry-leading sports portfolio.
Meanwhile, Tracy Brandys takes on the Senior VP of Sales role in Baltimore, while Chicago-based Kevin Cassidy and Bennett Zier, who oversaw the Virginia Beach properties, have been named Senior Advisors.
“Bennett’s leadership and advocacy of radio can’t be matched, even gaining him a Legendary Radio Manager of the Year Marconi award, in part for his dedication to building a great and productive culture for his team,” Regional President Mark Hannon wrote. “His over four decades in radio are a testament to his passion, commitment, creativity and belief in the powerful ways we can impact listeners, partners, and communities.”
Before the restructuring was announced, Audacy Philadelphia Senior Vice President and Market Manager David Yadgaroff announced his retirement, effective at the end of May.
Greenville, SC Senior Vice President and Market Manager Steve Sinicropi has left the company after a 13-year tenure. Before joining then-Entercom in 2013, Sinicropi served in a similar role for Cox Media Group Greenville. He has also held executive positions at stations in Detroit and Milwaukee.
Becky Domyan departs her SVP/Market Manager role after eight years with the St. Louis cluster. She previously was with Emmis Communications in St. Louis serving in several sales roles during her time with the cluster.
