A pet parrot named Bebe was filmed snorkeling in the Bahamas inside a small, owner-built submarine, drawing viral attention for the unusual setup. The homemade submarine was built from a food container with two air fittings, a one-way valve, lead weights for buoyancy, and an O2 meter. Air came from a 3,000 psi paintball cylinder strapped to the bottom to support the pet parrot during the outing. Owner Steven Lawyer said, via Dexerto, “I wanted to be sure our beloved Bebe had plenty of fresh air,” and noted bathtub tests and a sheltered harbor with no rip currents. Lawyer said Bebe also joins a 500-mile, 20,000-participant, weeklong bicycle ride each year and has completed 15 skydives since last fall.
