FUJIFILM has released firmware version 1.06 for the GFX ETERNA 55, improving external monitoring latency in 4K 4:3 mode and fixing several bugs, including a camera freeze when using FUJINON Duvo series lenses. The FUJINON GF32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR also receives firmware 1.02 with improved focus ring response.
This update lands just ahead of NAB 2026 and continues the cadence of steady post-launch refinements for FUJIFILM’s first dedicated cinema camera. We have covered the GFX ETERNA 55 extensively, from its full specs and pricing announcement to Johnnie’s first-look review.

Where firmware 1.04 reduced SDI/HDMI monitoring latency by approximately 40ms for 16:9 and 17:9 formats, version 1.06 targets the camera’s native 4K 4:3 open gate mode. The improvement applies when recording to ProRes HQ, ProRes 422, or ProRes LT with SDI/HDMI OUTPUT RAW SETTING set to OFF. FUJIFILM has not specified the exact millisecond reduction, but this covers the most common internal recording workflow and the mode the company recommends for best image quality.

Firmware 1.06 resolves several bugs. The most critical concerns FUJINON Duvo series lenses: engaging the expander while recording caused the camera to freeze entirely, a significant issue for operators using the hybrid cinema/broadcast zoom line in multicam environments.
Two autofocus bugs are also fixed: switching between MULTI and TRACKING AF modes could occasionally activate AREA mode instead, and AF tracking failed when the FOCUS LEVER SETTING was set to PUSH TO UNLOCK. On the playback side, clips were not playing during review, and opening the playback screen without storage media could trigger an unintended screen.
F-Log2C banding fix and updated 3D LUT
Banding could occur when applying the default LUT in F-Log2C settings under high-saturation lighting. As part of the fix, FUJIFILM has updated the 3D LUT “F-Log2C_to_WDR” from version 1.00 to version 1.10, available for download here. Users shooting in F-Log2C should grab the updated LUT alongside the firmware. We covered the initial GFX ETERNA 55 LUT release back in November 2025; these LUTs remain compatible across FUJIFILM’s broader camera lineup.

FUJIFILM has also released firmware 1.02 for the FUJINON GF32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR, improving focus response when using the focus ring, along with other minor fixes. The lens update should be performed in combination with either the GFX ETERNA 55 or the GFX100 II.
Both updates follow the standard procedure: download from FUJIFILM’s support page, copy to a formatted card, and update through the camera menu. The camera update takes approximately 10 minutes, and the lens around 5 minutes. The firmware applies directly from version 1.04 or 1.05.
