READING, Pa. – One of the stars of the hit show, “Shark Tank,” is pitching the importance of entrepreneurship and manufacturing in Reading.
Businessman, investor and TV personalty Robert Herjavec took part in a meet-and-greet and spoke to a crowd Tuesday at Reading Area Community College.
He was in town to help the school celebrate the 20th anniversity of the Schmidt Training and Technology Center.
“I love speaking to students. I love speaking to faculty. I love seeing environments like this,” Herjavec said.
“You know, everybody today thinks you need AI and fancy degrees and all of this stuff,” he said. “My dad was a blue collar maintenance mechanic, and this is all very familiar to me. You can make a great life learning very mechanical, tactical skills.”
The school says the Schmidt Training and Technology Center offers training programs that are customized to meet employers’ changing needs.
