Guests designed their own modern heirlooms of beads and baubles, sparking conversation, collaboration, and a genuine sense of community. When it was finally time to venture back into the outside world, they were greeted with a flower cart offering fresh bouquets and an invitation to slip into the photo booth to create a keepsake of the experience.
An Intimate Matinee
For Sunday, the space was reimagined once again, as Sapphire Reserve presented an intimate screening celebrating the 10th anniversary of The First Monday in May, the documentary that pulled back the curtain on Vogue’s annual gala.
Vogue’s Chloe Malle, Head of Editorial Content, U.S., personally introduced the film. “This has been a big year for Vogue nostalgia,” she said. “When I was hired as the magazine’s social editor in 2011, the title had a very different meaning.” Yet she noted that some traditions endure. “When I show up in the film you’re about to see, it’s to scrutinize the [Fashion’s Biggest Night’s] seating chart, which is exactly what our events team has been doing for the better part of a month.”
Before the screening, Vogue Contributor and Fashion Historian Lilah Ramzi put the evening’s exclusivity into perspective. “It’s unlike any other event,” she said. “No one sees inside the museum after the red carpet ends—that was until The First Monday in May’s camera crew was granted rare access.”
