“WWE SmackDown” stops through Lexington, Kentucky tonight — Friday, May 22 — inside the Rupp Arena. The blue brand will set the stage for tomorrow’s Saturday Night Main Event PLE.
Opening the show will be a segment between Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill. Ripley captured the WWE Women’s Championship from Cargill in their match at WrestleMania 42 last month, and Cargill has since returned seeking redemption. The first chapter in the extension of their feud starts tomorrow, when Ripley, alongside Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, takes on Cargill, Michin and B-Fab.

Cody Rhodes and Gunther are also set to add layers to their upcoming Clash in Italy title match. Gunther officially earned his shot at the Undisputed WWE title by defeating Royce Keys last week.
Elsewhere on the show, Shinsuke Nakamura continues his underlying saga with the MFT when he takes on the nearly unbeatable Talla Tonga. A title match will additionally take place, as Tiffany Stratton opens the door to the Women’s U.S. Championshup with an open challenge. WWE has been all about that concept the past few months.
Finally, Men’s U.S. Champion Trick Williams is expected to revisit his history with former champion Carmelo Hayes.
