Nikki Glaser is networking like crazy in the hopes of one day getting to act with her idol, Jennifer Aniston, a source tells Star.

“Jen is very aware of Nikki’s publicly professed admiration of her and she knows she has to pass the baton of being America’s rom-com sweetheart to somebody,” the source says of the Friends alum, 57. “But Jen is also realistic about what it takes to forge a decades-long career in the spotlight while keeping up a solid fan base who will follow you and your work anywhere.”

Glaser, 41, got her big break in 2024 with her headline-making roast of Tom Brady, the success of which has led to not one but two Golden Globes hosting gigs as well as a guest-judging stint on American Idol.

“If Nikki keeps pushing herself out of her comfort zone, she’s going to have a cheerleader and a potential co-star in Jen,” says the source. “But the ball is in Nikki’s court right now as she makes the first steps toward translating her comedy and awards show fame into something bigger, like starring in major films, which is Nikki’s goal at the moment.”

Glaser has already gotten the ball rolling.

In October, Variety announced the stand-up comedian will write and star in an “edgy romantic comedy” that’s set to be produced by Knocked Up director Judd Apatow. She’s also been cast alongside Kim Kardashian in the upcoming Netflix comedy film, The Fifth Wheel, per a December report from Deadline.

“Jen is watching with great interest to see how Nikki handles this challenge and rolls with the punches,” reveals the source. “Nobody is more aware than Jen that the road can get bumpy and … if Nikki shows real resilience and staying power as she navigates a changing Hollywood, only then is she going to get Jen’s full endorsement and potential collaboration!”
