In a surprise-to-us ceremony at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall on Sunday, British actor (and possible future James Bond) Callum Turner tied the knot with pop star Dua Lipa, kicking off summer wedding season and officially crowning one of the world’s swaggiest couples (Calua? Duallem?) in the process. Fortunately for anyone with a wedding on the calendar over the next few months, Turner’s unconventional, tone-on-tone Ferragamo ensemble—equal parts John Wick and Robert De Niro in Casino—is the perfect mood-board material for nailing all your summertime semiformal looks.

Rather than going the traditional groom route—in either a classic black tuxedo or a more standard suit and tie—Turner opted for a swervier in-between option. His Maximilian Davis-designed rig boasted a strong-shouldered, double-breasted cut with plenty of formal details (wide peak lapels, covered buttons), but its rich, midnight-navy hue kept things feeling fresh and modern. Perhaps the bravest, most fashion-forward move of all here, though, is the matching navy dress shirt and tie—a nod to the monotonal tailoring currently sweeping the runways of houses like Saint Laurent and popping up on the backs of dapper stars like Seth Rogen. (It’s also a throwback to the ’90s: Just look at Denzel Washington’s 1994 GQ cover for proof.)
Not only do these choices make Turner’s ensemble come off as understated and sophisticated, they also let Dua Lipa’s Bianca Jagger-inspired white suit by Schiaparelli shine all the brighter. Which might be the most important lesson for anyone with a wedding on the horizon: Whether you opt for a double-breasted suit, a tux, or neither, overshadow the bride at your own peril.
