A senior Hamas official told the BBC that the terrorist organization will reject U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan, claiming it “serves Israel’s interests and ignores those of the Palestinian people.” According to him, Hamas will not agree to disarm and surrender its weapons, nor to the deployment of an international force in the Gaza Strip – which he claims is “a new form of occupation.” According to the BBC, the highest-ranking military commander remaining for Hamas in the Gaza Strip – Izz ad-Din al-Haddad – is determined to continue fighting instead of accepting Trump’s plan. Additionally, it was reported that Hamas officials outside Gaza have recently found themselves excluded from discussions, as they have no direct control over the hostages.
