Following the dramatic events of One Piece episode 1145, fans were looking forward to the anime’s next episode. That’s when One Piece anime announced that there would be no new episodes for two weeks.

The anime will be on a break next week on October 5, followed by a recap episode the week after on October 12. The upcoming recap episode will be an urgent feature focusing on Rob Lucci and Cypher Pol “Aigis” Zero.

One Piece fans are set to have the worst time in October, as the anime will be on break for two weeks, likely releasing only two new episodes this month.

Following the release of One Piece episode 1145, titled “Friends Fight Together! Luffy and the Warriors of Elbaph,” fans were hoping for the anime to continue the story next week with an all-new episode. That’s when the preview for the next episode revealed that the anime will release a recap episode next.

As per the preview, Dr. Chopper will return with another recap episode, giving fans an urgent feature on Rob Lucci and Cypher Pol “Aigis” Zero. The episode will be titled “Dr. Chopper’s Adventure Checkuo -Traitors’ Masquerade-.”

Unfortunately, the recap episode will not be released next week, as there will be no One Piece episode on October 5. It will only be on October 12 that the anime will release its recap episode focusing on Lucci and Cypher Pol “Aigis” Zero.

As such, fans can expect One Piece anime to return with a new episode on October 19. However, the same can only be confirmed following the release of the urgent feature episode.

Why is One Piece Anime Taking a Break?

While neither Toei Animation nor the anime has confirmed it, it is very likely that the One Piece anime is taking a hiatus to pace the production process. It has become very clear that Toei Animation wants to release well-animated episodes to adapt important moments from the manga. Hence, the staff might be taking a break to produce better episodes.

Many fans may argue that the anime should not be taking so many breaks after taking a six-month hiatus. However, they must also note that manga creator Eiichiro Oda only released 16 One Piece manga chapters in the same period.

Hence, if the animation studio were to release new episodes every week, the anime might end up on-par with the manga, forcing them to release filler episodes. So, given the situation, One Piece anime taking a break might be a good thing.
