INTELLIGENCE : Institute for Research on Intelligence Methodology — is engaged in developing operational concepts and methodology for the needs of the intelligence community in Israel and around the world.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS : Moshe Dayan Center — founded in 1959 and incorporated into Tel Aviv University in 1966. The guiding principle of the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies is that in order to understand the region, and to properly interpret its developments, one must understand its cultures, peoples, languages, religions, and history. The MDC’s most significant contributions are often behind closed doors.
INTERNATIONAL SECURITY : Institute for National Security Studies — since its founding, the Institute has conducted intensive research in fields traditionally associated with Israel’s national security: the Middle East strategic region; Israel’s security doctrine; the Israel-Palestinian conflict; the Arab world; arms control and regional security; terrorism and low-intensity conflict; and US-Israel relations. Over the years focus has expanded beyond the immediate region, to China, Russia, Europe, and to new fields, such as societal resilience, economics, lawfare, cyber, energy, climate change, and others.
JEWISH THOUGHT : Shalom Hartman Institute — a leading research and educational center serving Israel and world Jewry. It works to enrich the moral and spiritual life of Israel and the Jewish people, deepen the commitment to pluralism and Israel’s Jewish and democratic character, and rebuild the covenant between Israel and the Jewish world.
LOCAL POLICY : Jerusalem Institute — its activities and researches help institutions and bodies to shape and implement innovative and effective policy and bring Jerusalem, with all its various components to the world — and the world to Jerusalem. Developing the city for the benefit of its residents, lovers, and believers, strengthening its global standing and leveraging it — all these head the Institute’s agenda.
MARITIME ISSUES : Institute for Maritime Policy & Strategy — initiates and participates in public discussion on issues related to Israel’s maritime domain in order to increase public awareness of the importance of this arena for Israel’s resilience and security.
MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH : Van Leer Jerusalem Institute — its research and public engagement currently take place in four thematic clusters: Sacredness, Religion, and Secularization; The Challenge of Shared Life; Science, Technology, and Society; and Israel in the Middle East. Alongside work in thematic clusters, the Institute fosters a large-scale project promoting gender equality in Israel.
PALESTINIAN RIGHTS : Adalah — its mission is to promote human rights in Israel in general and the rights of the Palestinian minority, citizens of Israel, in particular (around 1.5 million people, or 20% of the population). Adalah is the first Palestinian Arab-run legal center in Israel, and the sole Palestinian organization that works before Israeli courts to protect the human rights of Palestinians in Israel and in the OPT.
RELIGION : Religious Freedom Data Center — at the heart of the Center’s activity lies the “hotline” — a multi-channel reporting system staffed by dozens of Jewish-Israeli volunteers. This system enables clergy members, Christian institutions, and pilgrims to report any incident — spitting, vandalism, desecration of symbols, or threats — in real time. Every report undergoes meticulous verification, including precise location details and photographs, and the data is entered into a central database that allows for trend analysis and the identification of “hot spots”.
TERRORISM : International Institute for Counter-Terrorism — administers the largest public domain research database on the Internet encompassing global terrorist attacks, terrorist organizations and activists in addition to statistical reports. An acclaimed management and research staff spearheads the Institute’s efforts to coordinate the struggle against global terrorism and leads a worldwide team of affiliates and academic partners working to encourage cooperation among experts and disseminate innovative ideas for policymakers in the fight against terrorism.
URBANISM : Leventer Urban Design Laboratory — established in 2009, seeks methods and models that arrive at innovative solutions and guidelines, making our cities better. In collaboration with the public sector, the lab promotes new frameworks for thinking and action in Israel and around the world.
