Rumors and leaks for the Galaxy S26 series are ramping up as the mass production date approaches. We now have a fair amount of information about all three models, including their potential camera specs. And it looks like Samsung’s decision to name the base model Galaxy S26 “Pro” is tied to its camera upgrades.
Is Galaxy S26 Pro worthy of the “Pro” name?
I believe I have access to someone with inside knowledge about the Galaxy S26 Pro. According to my source, the device will feature an upgraded 50MP primary sensor, a 1/1.3-inch unit instead of 1/1.56 inches. It also includes a 50MP ultrawide lens, as leaked by WinFuture’s Ronald Quandt.
My source also hints at an “upgrade” for the 3x sensor, but they lack further details. This sparks two theories. If the Galaxy S26 Pro upgrades its 3x sensor, it adopts the S25 Ultra’s 3x camera, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra gets a new 3x sensor. Alternatively, the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Ultra share the same updated sensor.
The Galaxy S26 Edge, meanwhile, retains its 200MP main sensor and gains a 50MP ultrawide, per Quandt’s leak. The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera specs remain inconclusive, but things should get clearer soon.
Source’s credibility
My source prefers anonymity and asked me not to share his information. And I understand the skepticism about trusting an unnamed source, but this person has shared many accurate details with me before:
The Exynos 2600’s early Geekbench score of 10K+ (multi-core), which aligned with Geekbench scores showing scores around 11,256.
Confirmed Galaxy S25 Slim’s real name: Galaxy S25 Edge.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the last Snapdragon-exclusive model in the series. Sound familiar?
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is losing the built-in S Pen.
He confirmed all these details well before public knowledge. More importantly, he tells me that finalized specs for the Galaxy S26 series will be available in October, so stay tuned. Until then, just like all leaks, remain cautious and take this with a grain of salt.
