Samsung has been rumored to give up on the Plus model of its flagship line next year – so there wouldn’t be a Galaxy S26+, its place instead taken by the Galaxy S26 Edge, which should launch alongside the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Pro.
But today a new report from Korea brings some theoretical breaking news – apparently, the Galaxy S26+ could see the light of day after all. And that’s because the Galaxy S25 Edge‘s sales are disappointing.
Thus, Samsung assumes its successor wouldn’t do much better, and so it’s allegedly started developing the Galaxy S26+. This all apparently comes from multiple industry sources in Samsung’s home country.
Production of the S25 Edge is said to have “plummeted” since June, the month after its launch. This is a bad sign, as most smartphones usually sell the best in their first three months of availability. According to Samsung’s production forecast, the Galaxy S25+ is outselling the Galaxy S25 Edge. And so if it’s going to replace the S26+ with the S26 Edge and things stay the same, Samsung might be leaving money on the table by selling fewer units, even though the Edge is slightly more expensive.
