Canon is expanding their CINE-SERVO lineup with the announcement of the CINE-SERVO 11-55mm T2.95-3.95 lens, a super-wide zoom that combines a flexible 11–55mm range with a 100-degree angle of view. Available in RF or PL mount, the lens weighs about 3kg (6.6 lbs), making it the lightest in Canon’s CINE-SERVO series and well-suited for gimbals, cranes, robotic systems, or handheld operation. Let’s take a look at this new lens!
Canon has just announced the EOS C50, the RF 85mm F/1.4L VCM portrait lens, and now the CINE-SERVO 11-55mm super-wide lens, which joins the CINE-SERVO lineup alongside the CINE-SERVO 17-120mm T2.95-3.9, among others. The CINE-SERVO 11-55mm delivers ultra-wide coverage in a 3kg (6.6 lb) package, designed for productions that require flexibility and mobility. It’s light enough for handheld ENG work but equally well suited to remote and robotic systems. Its removable servo and metadata support ensure consistent performance across setups.

The built-in 1.5x extender adds flexibility by either extending the range on Super 35mm cameras or enabling full-frame compatibility, while maintaining sharpness and consistent image quality. It also helps create a shallower depth of field for a more cinematic look in live productions, news, or documentary work.
Updated digital drive/metadata support
This is Canon’s second CINE-SERVO lens with the e-Xs V Digital Drive Unit, which offers faster, more precise servo performance, smoother iris operation, Focused Breathing Compensation, improved ergonomics, and USB-C connectivity. The servo unit can also be removed for a stripped-down cine setup.

Its optical design is tuned for edge-to-edge sharpness and color accuracy, even when shooting wide open. At around 3kg (6.6 lbs), the lens is not only the lightest in the CINE-SERVO lineup but also balanced for shoulder use and rigging, with the durability expected from Canon’s professional cinema glass.
