New Idea Society recently gathered several longtime collaborators for an in-studio performance of “Lantern.”
The session was recorded at Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou’s GodCity Studio and featured Ballou alongside Cave In guitarist/vocalist Adam McGrath and Old Man Gloom drummer Santos Montano.
The band shared he following:
Hey everyone! We stopped by @godcitymusic a few weeks ago and invited Kurt Ballou and @adamcmcgrath to join us for a live version of “Lantern.” Turns out when we get together with @oldmangloomband on drums we can’t help but get loud!
Full band shows (minus Kurt and Adam) start July 9th in Brooklyn, then July 10th in Providence, July 11th in Malden and July 12th in Philadelphia!
Kurt has been an important contributor to NIS since the beginning – often fielding phone calls when we didn’t know how to use the recording gear, and playing some drums/guitar on the first two albums, so it was great to get him in on this.
